AVGS coaching with Claudia Franke: from voucher to participation

AVGS & Coaching · 30. September 2026 · approx. 5 minutes reading time

Do you have an activation and placement voucher (AVGS) and want to work towards a career goal? I am Claudia Franke of Coaching by Claudia. I support you personally as you start a business, apply for jobs or change career direction. Here I explain how we prepare together for the journey from voucher to the start of coaching.

Your way to coaching with me
  1. We discuss your destination and the information on your AVGS.
  2. We clarify which approved measure fits your voucher and which confirmation you need.
  3. You are waiting for the written approval. Then we plan your coaching start.

An AVGS may allow you to take part in a programme that supports activation and entry into employment. Your voucher specifies, among other things, its purpose, validity, region and duration. Your employment agency or jobcentre decides in each case whether you receive a voucher and for what purpose. I cannot make that decision for them, but I can help you prepare the next steps clearly.

1. Review your voucher together

Bring your AVGS to our first conversation. Together we check the goal written on it, its expiry date, any regional restriction and the number of hours or weeks specified.

These details determine which coaching programme may be suitable. If anything is unclear, speak with your employment adviser before making firm plans. I will explain what information we need to select a programme.

2. Define your goal and suitable programme

At Coaching by Claudia, you and your circumstances come first. If you want to become self-employed, I help you develop your business idea, prepare your business plan and organise the next steps. For job applications or a fresh career start, we discuss your strengths, documents and goals.

Together we decide whether these topics match your voucher. Funded participation requires a suitable, approved programme. The responsible programme provider supplies the confirmation you need to submit to your employment adviser. We discuss the programme and provider intended for you beforehand.

A voucher is not blanket approval for every coaching programme. The responsible authority checks whether a specific offer meets its conditions and your career goal.

3. Wait for approval and start with me

Before funded coaching begins, wait for written approval from the employment agency or jobcentre. After that we agree on appointments and how your participation will work.

According to the Federal Employment Agency, the approved programme is free of charge for you if written approval is in place before the start. Ask the responsible authority in advance whether additional costs such as travel or childcare can be covered.

4. Prepare for our first conversation

You do not need a finished business plan or perfect application documents to speak with me. It helps to bring your AVGS, any documents you already have and brief answers to three questions:

  • What professional goal do you want to achieve?
  • What have you already tried or prepared?
  • Which decision or obstacle do you want to tackle with me first?

I listen to your situation and discuss which support makes sense. In coaching we work on practical next steps, such as a sound startup concept, convincing applications or your career direction.

My AVGS coaching takes place online. Before we start, we check whether online participation is possible under your voucher and the proposed programme.

You can also have an introductory conversation with me without a voucher. Your employment agency or jobcentre decides whether to issue an AVGS; there is no automatic entitlement to funded coaching.

Your questions about AVGS coaching with me

Can I book any coaching service with an AVGS?

No. We first check which programme fits your goal and the conditions on your voucher. The programme must be approved and authorised by the responsible authority.

Is coaching with Coaching by Claudia free of charge?

According to the Federal Employment Agency, there is no participation fee for an AVGS programme approved in writing. Approval must be in place before our coaching starts; the voucher alone is not enough.

What if my voucher expires soon?

Get in touch with me and your employment adviser early. We clarify the details needed for a suitable programme. The responsible authority decides whether it can still approve it in time or whether a new voucher is required.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

No. Tell me about your situation and questions. Together we will define your goal more clearly and discuss useful next steps.
