AVGS coaching or business consulting: which next step fits your situation?

By Claudia Franke · Content revised on 20 October 2026
Are you planning self-employment or already running a business? The support you choose should start with the question you need to resolve. Beratung-Halle focuses on business decisions. You can find the detailed coaching offer for preparing a startup on AVGS-Halle.
Before you start: test your idea
Before launch, your offer, target customers and financial planning may still be unclear. Write down who you want to help, what problem you solve and what customers would pay for. These questions provide a useful starting point for startup coaching.
An AVGS may be suitable for an eligible approved coaching programme. The employment agency or Jobcenter decides individually. Written approval is required before funded participation begins; the voucher alone is not sufficient.
In an existing business: prepare a decision
Do you already have customers, but struggle to explain your offer, keep up with tasks or manage growth? The focus is then on developing your existing business. Consulting examines your business model, organisation and priorities. Eligibility for BAFA funding is assessed separately against the applicable requirements.
Three notes to prepare for our first conversation
1. Your starting point: still planning or already trading? Since when, and with what offer?
2. Your main question: what specific decision do you want to make next?
3. Your desired outcome: what should be clearer afterwards, such as your target customers, responsibilities or next startup steps?
You do not need a finished business plan for the first conversation. Start with a short description of your question. We will discuss confidential documents once we know what information is needed.
